Mission: To enhance worship services, to develop spirituality through music, and to provide a varied music program to which members will joyfully contribute their time and talents.

We pursue our music mission in the following ways:

Music is selected by the Minister, the Music Committee Chair, and the Director of Music Development to contribute to the focus of the worship service whenever possible.
The Song Leader, Dorner Carmichael, guides the congregation through familiar and new hymns and songs, with a contagious love of singing.
The Choir Director, Lisa Willett, directs the Choir accompanied by pianist Sheldon Berrett and works with individual performers to develop special musical contributions to worship services.
The High Street Choir rehearses weekly and contributes an anthem to the Sunday service on a biweekly basis. The Choir also prepares special music for holiday and other special services.
Special music is provided by the Choir, a children's group, and various instrumental and vocal soloists, who perform singly and in combination, to complement services and foster spiritual growth through the beauty that is music.
Members of the congregation are encouraged to share their talents as performers. There are many excellent musicians in our church, approximately one-fourth of the membership, and they are rehearsed and coached by the Director of Music Development. Rehearsal time, though usually minimal, is very productive, and excellence in each performance is everyone's goal.
